Lombard, IL
Data Center (Mission Critical)
20 MW
$11,000,000
The adaptive reuse project included the ground-level conversion of an existing office complex into a state-of-the-art data center. The equipment yard included four (4) 2.0 MW backup generators dedicated to the data center, providing N+1 redundancy. Floors 2–4 were renovated to make way for refreshed office spaces, with upgrades to electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
Orland Park, Illinois
Healthcare (Mission Critical)
$2,400,000
$2,400,000
The project included the installation of a new Cardiology Center inside Northwestern Medicine’s existing facility.
Preventing impact to patient-care was of top priority—Vader worked diligently with The Walsh Group and Northwestern Medicine to orchestrate minimally intrusive construction activities. Use of strategic phasing and pull-planning in unison with HEPA-Carts and tenting resulted in a successful project within a controlled environment.
Chicago, Illinois
Emergency Infrastructure (Mission Critical)
Confidential
The project included the conversion of Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center into an Alternate Care Facility for COVID-19 patients. Vader worked alongside The Walsh Group, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, and the Illinois National Guard to install the Electrical, Nurse Call, and Communication systems on the project.
The project was successfully completed in record time to help relieve pressure on the hospital system. It was designed to treat up to 3,000 patients throughout three of McCormick Center’s halls.
